Pembelajaran Al-Qur’an Berbasis Talaqqī: Kajian Living Qur’an di Pesantren Ruhul Qur’ani Meulaboh

Abstract

Qur’anic learning in pesantren emphasizes not only memorization but also the quality of recitation, ethical conduct, and development of Qur’anic character. The talaqqī method, focusing on direct teacher–student interaction, remains highly relevant in contemporary Islamic education as a form of Living Qur’an. This study describes the implementation of talaqqī at Pesantren Ruhul Qur’ani Meulaboh and examines its role in enhancing recitation, memorization accuracy, character formation, and spiritual teacher–student relationships. Using a qualitative case study, data were collected via participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Findings show that talaqqī is applied systematically during tahsin and tahfiz stages, involving recitation submission, immediate correction, and continuous repetition. This method improves tajwid accuracy, articulation of Arabic phonetics (makhārij al-ḥurūf), memorization fluency, and learning discipline. Moreover, talaqqī fosters spiritual engagement and emotional bonds, supporting motivation and long-term retention. Overall, talaqqī is a comprehensive Qur’anic learning method integrating technical mastery, psychological support, and spiritual development.
