Abstract

In Indonesia, it is still common to find schools that still apply makeshift management as if professionalism has not been placed as an important reason for entering the global world, because of the barriers in Islamic education that make it increasingly left behind. So the purpose of this study is to describe the professionalism of Islamic education in the contemporary era according to hadith and Qur'an tarbawi. The method used is qualitative with a literature study approach, and then analyzed using content analysis techniques and concluded. The results showed that professionalism in Islamic education is a skill-based on Islamic education and values, reflected in a life calling for devotion and mastery of professional skills, by Islamic teachings and sources which are listed in the hadith of the Prophet narrated by Imam Al-Bukhari No. 6015, then found in the Qur'an letter An-Nisa verse 58, and letter Al-Isra verse 36. Its implementation includes developing professionalism at the foundation level, among school leaders, teaching staff, and administration, both through internal and external development of the institution.
